AZ Alkmaar will hope to get off the mark in the Europa Conference League when they host surprise starters Legia Warsaw on matchday two. This Group E match will be played at the AFAS Stadion in Alkmaar on Thursday with the hosts on zero points and the visitors on three points after one match. AZ started their campaign with a 4-3 loss to Zrinjski despite taking a three-goal lead in the first-half. The final goal in that sequence was scored beyond the 80th minute as AZ lost their bearing and thereby all three points. The Dutch Eredivisie club has, however, recovered post that. Warsaw were quick off the blocks in that match scoring in the third minute and from there on, Villa were always playing catch-up. After the score was levelled at 2-2 by the 38th minute, Warsaw scored just past the first-half to settle things in their favour. They followed it up with consecutive wins, although a loss over the weekend has dented their confidence a bit. Goals have been a running theme for the visitors in this competition, with six of their seven Conference League matches ending up with over 2.5 goals.
