FC Midtjylland make the trip to Bergamo this week for a Group D match in the UEFA Champions League against Atalanta on Tuesday night. The Danish side are bottom of the table and have yet to pick up a point in this UCL campaign. Their hosts, who are third with seven points from four games, are coming off the back of an impressive win away to Liverpool. Winning at Anfield is no mean feat yet Gian Piero Gasperini's players were great value for the success, outplaying the English side. Atalanta are competing with Ajax - who are second and level on points with the Serie A club - for a spot in the Round of 16. This match against the group whipping boys represents an excellent opportunity for Atalanta to leapfrog Ajax in the table ahead of their meeting on the final matchday. The reverse fixture posed no problems for Atalanta, the Italian outfit cutting through their opponents like soft cheese in a 4-0 win. Yet their Serie A form is cause for concern with only one win in their previous six matches. Atalanta, who are usually dependable to score goals, have only managed five across those six fixtures. 

Midtjylland have been showing signs of improvement in recent UCL outings, scoring in both of their defeats to Ajax. They followed up the latest loss to Ajax with a limp goalless draw at home to AaB in the Danish Superliga, a result that keeps them top of the table. Midtjylland only have their pride to play for, and that freedom could see them deliver a better performance than their previous effort against Atalanta.
