The final of the 2019 FIBA World Basketball Cup takes place and includes two of the world's top five countries. Not the two we expected though and new world champions will be crowned as world number two ranked country, Spain take on Argentina who are fifth in the world. Spain won the world cup in 2006 and this is their first final since that victory. The Spaniards have played seven matches in this tournament and they have won all of them. The quarter finals saw them defeat Poland and then get past Australia 95-88 in the last four. That was a real thrlller with double overtime required. They will be looking for another great performance by Marc Gasol who scored 33 points in that semi-final.

Argentina will be a tough nut to crack having beaten Serbia and France (the conquerors of the USA) in the last two rounds. Unbeaten in this tournament, they are also chasing a second world cup victory but have had a longer wait than the Spanish. It was 1950 in the first ever world cup that Argentina became world champions. Luis Scola may be 39 years old but he has been in excellent form with 28 points in the semi-final. That long wait for a second Argentinian world cup title is going to have to continue, Spain can utilise their defensive abilities to get the win in this final.
