Serbia were strongly fancied to be the main challengers to the USA in this 2019 FIBA World Basketball Cup. Then they lost to Spain in their last group match, stifled by the Spaniards strong defence. Before that match, Serbia had been averaging 103.3 points a game. They won all three of their opening round group matches including scoring 126 points against the Philippines. That took them into the second group but after a hammering of Puerto Rico, they lost to Spain by 12 points. 

To reach the semi-finals, Serbia have to get past Argentina. Their South American opponents are ranked fifth in the world and were world cup runners-up 17 years ago. They won all three of their opening group games against Russia, Nigeria and South Korea. Two wins, both by at least 20 points over Venezuela and Poland won them Group I and secured this match against Serbia. It's the Serbs who have been up against stronger opposition and they can get the win here, back them on a -7.5 handicap.
