Argentina and Italy will face off on Saturday at the 2026 Volleyball Nations League. Gli Azzurri have won four of their last five matches in this competition, and our prediction is that they will come out on top in this encounter as well.
After losing to Cuba 3-2 on Friday morning, Argentina slipped to 14th place in the 2026 VNL standings (W3 L7) and are all but certain to miss out on a spot in the final round this year.
Manuel Armoa had his best performance of the tournament in the defeat to Cuba with 22 points. Luciano Vicentin is the team’s leading scorer overall with 163 points - fifth in the tournament’s top scorer standings.

Meanwhile, Italy delivered a commanding performance to beat Belgium 3-0 on Thursday. They are now in sixth place but still need two wins to guarantee their spot in the final round.
Pardo Mati led the scoring for Gli Azzurri against Belgium with 11 points, taking his tournament tally to 45. Mattia Bottolo is the team’s top scorer in the competition with 132 points in 10 games.
Italy have won 11 of their last 15 matches in all competitions, and last lost to their upcoming opponents in the 2023 edition of the VNL.
