Argentina will face Germany on a stacked opening day in Week 2 of the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League on Wednesday. We feel Die Adler represents good value as the underdog for our match prediction, given that La Selección have yet to win a match in this competition. 

Argentina endured a dismal start to this competition, ending Week 1 of the 2026 VNL as one of only two teams without a single victory after losing to Serbia, Iran, Bulgaria and Brazil. 

Despite their poor performance, Luciano Vicentin produced standout performances for the team, racking up 67 points in his four games, which places him sixth in the tournament’s top scorer standings. 

Argentina are second-bottom in the standings and have lost six of their last 10 matches across all competitions. However, they have won five of their last six against this opponent. 

Meanwhile, Germany will be fairly pleased with their opening week performance in this competition, having split their four games with wins over Canada and France, while losing to the USA and Italy. 

Filip John was the only player from Die Adler to reach 50 points in Week 1 of the 2026 VNL. Simon Valentin Torwie has been their best player on defence, currently on nine blocks in four games. 

Germany are 12th in the standings with 0.961 SPL. They have only won three of their last 10 matches but did beat this opponent 3-0 in their last encounter at the Paris Olympics.
