Alexander Bublik vs Tomas Machac Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Shanghai Masters

After receiving a first round bye, 19th seed Alexander Bublik begins his Shanghai Masters campaign. His first match in this outdoor hard court tournament will be against unseeded Tomas Machac. Bublik has won his two previous matches against Machac and our prediction is he will win this match.

In the third round, the winner will take on either 16th seed Brandon Nakashima or unseeded Matteo Berrettini.

Alexander Bublik is playing here for the fourth time. A win over Machac will see him in round three in Shanghai for the first time.

He reached round three at the US Open in August, but has lost his last three matches.

Of the two previous meetings played between Bublik and Machac, one was on this surface with Bublik winning in three sets two years ago.

Tomas Machac was 75th in the latest rankings, 53 places below Bublik.

He is also struggling for form with six of his last seven (including two in Beijing) being lost, before he beat Zhizhen Zhang in round one in Shanghai. That was despite him losing the first set 6-1. Machac has won ten of his 19 outdoor hard court matches played this year. He has won one title in Adelaide, but that was back in January.
