Delineated sections for sports, virtuals, casino etc, with much less overlap than competitors
Good choice of betting markets for sporting fixtures
Nice selection of betting features such as Build A Bet, Cash Out and Price Boosts
Not the most appealing welcome bonus for new customers
Fewer sports to bet on compared to its rivals
Relatively few deposit and withdrawal options
First things first, there is no Bwin promo code required to access the current welcome offer at Bwin sports, meaning you can sign up today and won't miss out on any part of the welcome offer!
Bwin was established many years ago in Austria and has grown to be one of Europe's biggest sports betting operators. It operates in many jurisdictions worldwide and holds several gaming licences, enabling it to do so.
In our review in June 2025, we have focused on the UK-facing version of the Bwin site, which means that any promotions, bonuses, and payment methods we mention in our honest review are relevant to UK-based customers and may not apply if you live in another part of the world.

Bwin UK Bonus
Best bonus
Bonus up to : £20
Withdraw : None, but Free Bet Stake is not returned with winnings.
Min. deposit eligible for bonus : £10
Type of bonus : Bonus on first bet
Bwin offers just one welcome offer to customers in the UK, and it is an insurance-based offer on your first sports bet (not including Horse Racing).
To qualify, you must deposit at least £10 (or £20 to receive the maximum insurance) using an accepted payment method (debit card) for the bonus. Then, once you have deposited into your account, you must place a qualifying bet.
Your qualifying bet must be a three-selection or greater accumulator bet of up to £20. The bet must be valued at combined odds of 2/1 or greater and cannot include horse racing selections. If your bet wins, you receive your winnings and stake back. However, if your bet loses, the insurance triggers, and you receive a FreeBet that is the same value as your original bet (up to a maximum of £20).
Your FreeBet must be used within seven days on a football betting market. If the Free Bet wins, the stake part of the bet is not returned with your winnings. However, there is no wagering requirement on any winnings you do receive back from your successful Bwin bonus FreeBet.

Bwin UK Site
We can remember Bwin's first forages into the UK betting industry, when its site was somewhat poor in comparison to its rivals. However, nowadays, Bwin's sports betting platform is as good as many of its rivals, and in several cases, considerably better.
The Sports Betting and Live Betting options are clearly demarcated at the top of the page. On the main site, the pages are divided into the familiar three sections: main navigation menus on the left, popular betting options in the middle, and bet slips and other details on the right.
Navigating the site is simple, by using the different items in each column to narrow down your sport, competitions, fixtures and finally bets to find the one you want. It's a simple system, but it works and at Bwin, that method of finding bets works smoothly.
We found the Bwin website excellent, but one key tip we would pass on to prospective customers is that the site works better in a full-screen option, where all columns can be seen. On resized, smaller windows, not all options are visible and that does impact how fluid the site is to use.
Bwin Online Rules
Having reviewed the different policies, specifically the General Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Promotions Terms, we found that Bwin's rules are almost identical to those of many of its competitor sites operating in the UK.
Even so, we would suggest customers read through these policies themselves at sign-up, in order to familiarise themselves with the key rules and regulations of the site. You can also use the detailed Help section to discover more about the different options, bets, offers and features of all parts of the Bwin offering for UK customers.
Bwin App
Bwin offers several apps for both iOS and Android customers. These applications can be downloaded from the Bwin site directly, or you can visit the App Store or Google Play to download the apps from there.
There is a separate app for iOS and Android devices for each of Bwin Sports, Bwin Casino, Bwin Live Casino and Bwin Poker.
Bwin Sportsbook: The Offer
The sports betting options at Bwin is a core part of the site. It is the only site that has its own welcome offer, and it offers a good range of sports on which to place a bet, as well as a small selection of non-sports betting sections. You can find major sports and a few niche sports.
It should be noted that no Virtual Sports are located within the Bwin Sports service. Instead, there is a standalone Virtual Sports part of the site, which is focused solely on these particular games.
Which sports are offered at Bwin?
We found that Bwin's sports coverage is extensive, though not as all-encompassing in terms of the number of sports covered as some of their main rivals. However, it should be noted that Bwin has a standalone Virtual Sports section. Furthermore, through its sports betting section, you can also find betting options on Entertainment and Politics alongside the usual sports offerings.
Football Tennis Basketball Rugby American Football Baseball Volleyball Ice Hockey Motorsports Golf Horse Racing Athletics Cricket Formula 1 Cycling Rugby League Futsal Table tennis Badminton Boxing Darts Greyhounds MMA NASCAR Snooker Alpine Skiing Biathlon Cross-country skiing Ski Jumping Water Polo Lacrosse Floorball
While the number of sports covered may be fewer, what is impressive is the number of betting markets offered by Bwin across its full range of sports, plus the site design makes it easy to access online betting features within each sport section, such as Build-a-Bet options and Price Boosts.
Types of Bet at Bwin
Most betting sites offer the majority of the most popular bets and that is certainly the case at Bwin, which offers a wide choice of the most popular bets ranging from simple win and each way options, down to more complicated bets such as Patents, Lucky 31 and even Goliath bets.
What we did find impressive was that there was a good deal of imagination allied to depth when it came to sports-specific betting markets. For example, for American Football, you can place bets on the number of passing yards thrown in the forthcoming NFL season as an Over/Under bet, not just for the top quarterbacks in the NFL, but for every likely starting quarterback set to play next season.
Each sport had plentiful outright betting options alongside its pre-match betting service. While the Live Betting option at Bwin was particularly useful, with live streaming available across a small number of sports while non-live streamed events have a data analysis of the fixture showing in its place.
All you need to do to access most system bets, is add the selections to your bet slip, and then check the System Bets options alongside the standard betting options to place a wide range of bets.
Bwin Football Betting
Bwin’s football betting service is the biggest market on the site and certainly amongst its most attractive to Bwin customers.
If you are new to the site, you will find that Bwin provides an extensive football betting service, covering competitions from all over the globe throughout the year.
With coverage of 68 countries from around the world for domestic club competition, plus additional markets for international club competitions (such as the Champions League, Copa Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Cup) plus extensive international football betting on many qualifying and finals competitions, there is a wealth of options available.
We were particularly impressed with the breadth of this coverage and how well the Price Boosts and Build a Bet features are integrated within the football betting service to offer customers better prices and more betting options.
Bwin Live Betting
Live betting is a key part of Bwin's sports offering and has its own section on the website. If you have a funded account, you can find live streaming of a number of sports events on the site, though the live streaming options are not as extensive as those on other sites.
Outside of live streaming a data service showcases the current data from your chosen live sporting event, a useful addition when no live stream is available.
We found the top sports for In-play betting at Bwin tended to be football, tennis, basketball and baseball, with football, tennis and esports offering the best live streaming options.
In terms of betting markets, Bwin’s live betting service offered a good choice of bets, even for lesser-known fixtures and we feel that the service would more than match the needs for any serious punter looking for a reliable and in-depth live betting service.
What’s good about Bwin?
While we discovered a couple of niggly issues with the Bwin website for new UK customers, there were also plenty which we did like. This includes the following features in particular:
Site and App design and functionality
Whether we used the website, or any of the Bwin apps available for download, we found that Bwin offers a smooth service (with expanded windows on the website!). In particular, the family of Bwin mobile apps have been vastly improved over the years and are now amongst the best you can find available online.
Range of betting options
Bwin may have fewer sports available, but we are impressed with its range of betting options, notably for individual fixtures. While these options have great depth for popular sports (as we would expect), there was also commensurate depth of choice available for less popular sports fixtures too, which is a bonus for those that like to vary their betting.
Betting features
While Bwin lacks promotions compared to some other sites, it makes up for that with a number of good-value betting features. In particular, the Build A Bet and Price Boost features are prevalent on the site and offer good value and choice to customers.
Security at Bwin - A reliable website?
As you would expect from a company registered with the UK Gambling Commission, Bwin and its services are fully compliant with all aspects of the licence and operate within the rules and regulations established by the commission for the United Kingdom betting industry. It is GDPR compliant, and its site and servers are password-protected, encrypted, and protected by the latest firewall technology.
In addition, we found Bwin to be a safe and secure place to deposit and wager when we accessed the site.
Registering with Bwin
Bwin offers new customers an engaging welcome bonus, but what is the process you need to follow to sign up and claim the bonus? Bwin has one of the easiest registration processes to follow out of all betting sites in the UK that we have joined.
Follow the four simple steps below and you’ll find out why!
- Go to the Bwin website
- Click on Register and complete the registration forms
- Verify your account
- Make your qualifying deposit
- Go to the Bwin website
- Click on Register and complete the registration forms
- Registration form 1 - The first part requires you to enter your Country of Residence and the Email Address you want to use with your Bwin account.
- Registration form 2 - Choose a Password for your account. This must contain letters and numbers and be at least eight characters long.
- Registration form 3 - On the third registration page, you must enter your Title (Mr, Miss, Mrs, Dr, etc.) and your First name and Surname.
- Registration form 4 - This section requires that you enter your Date of Birth (in DD, MM, YYYY format).
- Registration form 5 - Next, enter your Mobile Phone Number and International prefix (for the UK, this is +44).
- Registration form 6 - The penultimate registration section requires you to use an address locator by entering your Postcode or the first line of your Home Address. When you enter this information, a drop-down list will appear from which you can select your address.
- Registration form 7 - Finally, you simply select the Currency to use with your account (this is set as British Pounds as default for UK signups). Then just read through and confirm you have read the Terms and Conditions, Age & Identity, Verification Policies. Once you have confirmed these by ticking the box, just click the green Create My Account button.
- Verify your account
- Make your qualifying deposit
It is incredibly easy to find the UK-facing version of the Bwin website. Just use one of the many links in this preview, which will take you directly to the UK version of the site.
This method is more straightforward than using a search engine such as Google, which could bring you non-UK versions of the sites within the results.
Once the Bwin website has loaded, you should locate the Register button at the top of the page. Click on this to begin the seven-step process of registering all your details.
Once you have completed these steps, your account should be created almost instantaneously. You can now log into your account using the email address and password you have just created.
Now that your Bwin account is registered, you need to open full access to it by completing the verification process.
This process may be completed automatically for some customers, especially those who hold other sports betting or casino gaming accounts with another provider and have completed verification checks with them. If Bwin can access your data from one of the main ID verification services companies, then you could be verified automatically.
However, if your ID cannot be verified this way, you must submit one or more forms of ID clearly showing your name, photograph, and address.
Bwin accepts many forms of ID, including, but not limited to, Passport photo pages, National ID Cards, Driver’s Licences (with photo), Utility Bills, Tax Bills, Mobile Phone Bills, Council Tax Bills, Bank Statements, and more. Any form of ID sent must be current, and any bills sent must not be older than three months.
You can use the easy-to-follow online documents uploader tool, the Android or iOS apps, or email copies of your documents to documents@bwin.com.
Once received, Bwin aims to review and process your documents within 36 hours. Once you pass the ID checks, you will then gain full access to the site and be able to make your first deposit.
With your Bwin account open and your identity fully verified, you can now make your qualifying deposit. To claim the welcome offer, you should check the terms and conditions. It requires you to make a minimum deposit of £10 or more via an accepted Debit Card. Deposits made using other payment methods do not qualify for the welcome offer.
Then all you need to do is make your first bet a sports bet of three or more selections of up to £20 in value. If your bet loses, you will receive a £20 FreeBet back as your welcome offer.
Bwin: What alternatives are there to betting on sports?
Bwin’s sports service is a central part of the Bwin service, but several alternatives to sports betting are also available, all accessible from your account.
We have already mentioned that the Sports Betting service has Esports, Entertainment, and Politics betting options available, and these are joined by a selection of standalone sites that run in parallel to Bwin Sports.
There is an extensive Bwin Casino service, which includes a Live Casino and features a wide selection of casino games, slots, and Live Dealer betting options, including Progressive Jackpot games, Drops & Wins slots, exclusive slots, and much more.
In addition, there is a dedicated Virtuals section for a wide range of Virtual Sports betting games and a Poker site that offers a wealth of promotions and a wide choice of different poker games. A poker client or app needs to be downloaded to access the tables and play the variety of poker offerings available at Bwin.
