Who To Bet On in the Summer Transfer Window?

Jude Bellingham and Lionel Messi have already switched clubs, who's next to be transferred? It's not just an important time for the clubs as you can place bets on which clubs top players will be at on September 3rd, 2023. Let's look at some of the main players who may well be on the move this summer.

Rice On His Way Out of West Ham

declan-rice2

Declan Rice may have just won a Europa Conference League Winners medal with West Ham but he's on his way out of the London Stadium. The England international has been with the Hammers since the age of 14 after an earlier spell at Chelsea. Now 24, despite the fact West Ham will be in the Europa League next season it looks inevitable that he will be leaving for pastures anew.

Who should you be betting on him joining? It looks as if he may well be on his way to the Emirates to join Arsenal. The Gunners already have a strong midfield and signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton in the last transfer window. Arsenal finished second in the Premier League last season but faded in the final weeks. Boosting their midfield even further will improve their chances of finishing one place higher next season.

Arsenal have already had one bid turned down and the word is that West Ham want not just a massive fee but also Emile Smith-Rowe included in the deal. More negotiations will take placee and it's odds-on still at bet365 that Rice will be an Arsenal player next season. Second in the market are Manchester City but would Rice be able to guarantee himself a regular place in their first team?

Will Kane Finally Leave Tottenham?

harry-kane

It seems that every year this question is asked. Will Harry Kane finally end his days at Tottenham and join a new club? It's happening again this year but bet365 still believe the record Tottenham goalscorer will stay on for another season.

He nearly joined Manchester City a couple of seasons ago but the move fell through. With Tottenham failing to qualify for Europe next season the rumours are again swirling about what the England captain will do. Kane has never played for an overseas club but could that be about to change? Real Madrid are believed to be interested in signing Kane as a replacement for Karim Benzema.

With Jude Bellingham already having joined the La Liga champions, that might convince Kane it's time to try something new. Manchester United are also interested but negotations haven't been going well.  Whether Kane stays at Tottenham is bound to be one of the talking points of this transfer window. The chances are he'll stay at Tottenham.

Back to the Premier League for Maddison?

james-maddison

While Rice and Kane are guaranteed top flight football next season, that's not the case for James Maddison. He was part of the Leicester City squad that were relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2022/23 season. He's too good a player to be in the second-tier of English football so will relish a move to a Premier League team. That's particularly the case with it being the European Championships in 2024. Not playing in the Premier League may well count against him.

Newcastle United are the 1.61 favourites with bet365 to be his new club. A move to United wouldn't just guarantee a return to the Premier League for Maddison. Newcastle are also in the Champions League so signing for them is even more appealing for Maddison. A few top performances on that stage would likely see him in the England squad.

What if a deal can't be arranged for Maddison to join Newcastle United?  The second favourites at present are Tottenham at 4.33 who will be looking to boost their squad after a troubled season. A lot might depend on whether Tottenham sell Kane this summer. Doing so wouldn't really inspire Maddison to join them. Then there's the fact that there's no European competition on offer. Arsenal are 10.00 at bet365 to sign Maddison. Those odds might come tumbling down if they can't sign Declan Rice. A move to Newcastle is looking most likely though.
