The most exciting fixture of the round of 16. Nobody could believe their eyes when they saw the draw. This will be a huge test for Neymar and PSG to show if they are up to the standard of the best in the world. Real Madrid, who have been shakey this season in the group stages, falling behind Tottenham to finish second. They have a lot to prove too. The Parisians, dominated in their group and were too good for the German champions Bayern Munich. This could go either way!
Apart from the match between Madrid and Paris, this match between the Blues and the Catalans remain the most exciting of this round. Chelsea had a few slip ups in the group stages and lost out to Roma who took top spot. Chelsea will pay the price and will be travelling to Barcelona. Don't write off Chelsea, after all they are the Premier League Champions!
After finishing second in the pool behind Barcelona, Juventus will have a tough time against Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs. In shape on the European stage, Spurs will not be taken lightly especially as they have not lost against the great Real Madrid. The return leg at Wembley could be complicated for the Italians.
FC Basel-Manchester City
In this round of 16, it's hard to imagine a win for the Swiss. Although Raphael Wicky's men have been solid in the group stages, Guardiola's men are much better on paper. Favourites, City should not hang about and could make the difference in the first leg at Parc Saint-Jacques.
More balanced, this duel between Porto and Liverpool promises to be intense on the first leg as well as the return. Second in their group after knocking out AS Monaco, the Portuguese will have their say, especially if they take an advantage in Dragao in the first leg. More expected, the Klopp Reds will have to score in Porto to put in the best conditions before returning to Anfield
FC Sevilla-Manchester United
With the trouble since the beginning of the season, the Spannish side will have a lot to do to defeat the Manchester of Jose Mourinho. Again effective in the Champions League, the Red Devils make a resounding return and rely on their particular duo Pogba-Lukaku in the competition. David De Gea, the best goalkeeper in the world, will be hard to deceive for the Sevillians.
Shakhtar Donetsk-AS Rome
Probably the most under-rated team of the last 16, Donetsk will not be easy to maneuver for Roma. Performing at home, the Ukrainians will be formidable on their land and could sow doubt if good performance arrise before returning to Stadio Olimpico. In terms of odds, our experts would try a bet on a win for the Ukranians.
Perhaps the most unbalanced duel. Munich, back in great form since the arrival at the helm of Jupp Heynckes, should not tremble against Besiktas Istanbul. Of course, the Turks showed during the group phase that they are a big side in Europe. The problem is that the Bavarians are much more armed than Porto, Monaco or Leipzig. The double-confrontation promises to be complicated for the Turks.
