In an intriguing Matchday 34 clash in La Liga on Saturday, the European qualification ambitions of Villarreal and Osasuna will be on the line as they clash at El Madrigal. This match between the fifth-placed Yellow Submarine and the eighth-placed Los Rojillos comes with our prediction of under 3.5 goals.

Villarreal have a narrow one-point lead over Betis in their battle to finish fifth, the last place that guarantees Champions League action next season. Osasuna are ahead of Mallorca on head-to-head points in the race to finish eighth, the last spot for European qualification that guarantees a Conference League play-off round.

A 1-0 home win over Espanyol last weekend helped Villarreal stay in control of their top five hopes, but consistency remains a problem. They haven’t won consecutive league games since early February.

Playing at home hasn’t been a pleasure either, as Villarreal could win just one of their last five home La Liga fixtures (D3, L1).

Osasuna continued their upward curve with a 1-0 home win over Sevilla last time out. That was their third league win in a row and puts them in contention to finish in the European qualification places.

Their away form still remains a concern area, as Osasuna won just once across their last 11 away league trips (D6, L4).
