Action resumes in La Liga after the winter break, as matchday 19 features Valladolid hosting Betis on Saturday. This match at the José Zorrilla Stadium sees the 20th-placed Pucelle host the ninth-placed Los Verdiblancos, and our prediction is a win for the visitors.

Valladolid is bottom with 12 points and four away from safety, while Betis has 25 points and is five behind top-six clubs. Valladolid was thrashed 3-0 away from home by Girona in their last match before the break, making it four defeats out of five.

It is their poor scoring record that has the hosts scrambling for points, as only Getafe has scored fewer than their 12 goals. Even their home form is poor, as Valladolid has lost four of their last six home league matches.

Betis could latch on to that, as they look to bridge the five-point gap to top-five clubs. The visitors defeated Huesca 1-0 away from home in the Copa del Rey in their first match of 2025. That marked a fifth win in seven games in all competitions.

They will need to address their league form, though, having won just one of their last seven La Liga matches. Away record is equally dicey, but four wins out of four in their recent competitive trips suggest they could turn things around here.
