The 2026 EuroVolley continues on Thursday evening with Turkiye taking on Germany in Pool D. Turkiye have won their last two matches against this opponent, and we feel they will add another victory here, as discussed in our prediction below.

Turkiye are entering the 2026 European Championships at arguably the highest point in their history. They finished 10th in 2021 and reached the RO16 of this competition in the last edition. 

This year has been very impressive for the team, highlighted by reaching the VNL Finals for the first time and going on to finish sixth overall after winning eight of their 12 preliminary matches. 

Turkiye have now won six of their last 10 matches across all competitions, but each of their losses in this period came against teams ranked in the top four globally. 

Meanwhile, Germany had a respectable 2023 EuroVolley campaign, finishing third in Pool A behind Serbia and Italy. They were eventually ousted in a dramatic five-set defeat to the Netherlands. 

However, 2026 brings a very different storyline, as it marks the beginning of a new cycle under Massimo Botti, who led the team to a 13th-place finish in the preliminary stage at the 2026 VNL. 

Germany have lost their last four games and have only won two of their last 10. They have also suffered defeat in their last two encounters against their upcoming opponents.
