Pool A action at the 2026 EuroVolley continues on Saturday, with Sweden taking on the Czech Republic. Our prediction is a win for the Czechs, given that they have won their last four matches against this opponent.
Sweden made their long-awaited return to EuroVolley on Thursday, but they were handed a tough start against second-ranked Italy and lost their opener 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-17).
None of the Swedish players were able to reach double digits, with Axel Enlund ending as their top scorer with nine points. As a team, they recorded 32 attack points with a 47% attack efficiency.
Sweden have now lost four of their last five matches across all competitions, and have not beaten their upcoming opponent in a competitive encounter in the past decade.
Meanwhile, the Czech Republic will be looking to build up momentum here after a solid opening match of this competition, beating Mediterranean Games runners-up Greece, 3-1 on Friday.
Marek Sotola was the standout performer for the team, finishing with 18 points, including three blocks and an attacking efficiency of 58%. Lukas Vasina and Matous Drahonosky added 30 points combined.
