Second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime has a tough opening match in the Cincinnati Open. He takes on unseeded Stefanos Tsitsipas. Looking at the statistics, a close match is likely and more than 0.5 tie-breaks in the match is our prediction,

Either 25th seed Arthur Rinderknech or unseeded Juan Manuel Cerundolo will be faced by the winner next.

Felix Auger-Aliassime has lost seven of his ten matches against Tsitsipas and he's won just one out fo five on outdoor hard courts.  They met here in 2021  with Tsitsipas winning in three sets. 

Auger-Aliassime is fourth in the world rankings, 45 places above his opponent. The Canadian has a 7-5 outdoor hard court record this year with one semi-final reached in Dubai and the fourth round in Indian Wells..

This is his first match since Wimbledon where he lost in the semi-finals. He's played six tie-breaks in his last two matches.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has won 11 of his 19 matches on this surface in 2026 with one quarter-final reached but six first or second round exits. His last tournament was in Montreal where he lost in round two to Joao Fonseca.

Round one here saw him beat Valentin Royer 7-6 7-5 His last two matches have both included a tie-break.
