FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon are coming from high scoring matches to set up their League Cup meeting. The two giants of Portuguese football face off in the first semi-final of the competition on Tuesday. Below we have the preview and a prediction of the match.

Sporting Lisbon had a crazy game in their last outing which ended 4-4 away to Vitoria Guimaraes. They took the lead very early in that game and twice lost it.

In the end, they needed a stoppage time goal from Trincao to level matters. To get to the semis, Sporting overcame Nacional 3-1. Three of their last four matches in this competition had over 2.5 goals.

Porto have been the biggest beneficiaries of Sporting’s recent struggles. In the league they are within a point of leaders Sporting and with a game in hand. Porto have been doing superbly in recent matches.
