Sunday brings us the 2026 European Championship Pool A matchup between Slovenia and Sweden. Slovenia have dominated this fixture in the past, and our prediction is that they will win this one comfortably. 

After a slow start, Slovenia stormed to the top of the Pool A standings with a straight-sets victory over Slovakia (31-29, 25-15, 25-18) in their opening match of the 2026 EuroVolley competition. 

Nik Mujanovic was the star performer in that victory. His serving run in the opening set included four aces. He finished as the team’s top scorer with 14 points, including nine kills and one block. 

Slovenia are ranked fourth in the world and have won six of their last 10 matches. They have also beaten this opponent in their two previous encounters back in 2012. 

Meanwhile, Sweden have endured a difficult start to their EuroVolley campaign, losing 3-0 to world champions Italy in their opening match before going down 3-2 to Czechia on Saturday afternoon. 

As a team, Sweden only managed a 47% attack accuracy in their last match. Axel Enlund led the team with 23 points, including three blocks, while Jacob Ekman notched up four blocks in his 15 points. 

Sweden have won just four of their last 10 matches in all competitions and enter this fixture ranked 32nd globally.
