The rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz continues in this Cincinnati Open final. Sinner will be out to keep his unbeaten record on hard courts this year. Can Alcaraz end it? Time for our match prediction.
Top seed and defending champion Sinner has reached this final without losing a set and beat qualifier Terence Atmane in the semi-finals. The Italian has won all 12 of his hard court matches played in 2025.
He hasn’t lost on this surface since being beaten by Alcaraz last October. Sinner will be attempting to get his first win over the Spaniard on a hard court since 2023. Doing so will see him become the first player since Roger Federer in 2015 to retain this title.
Carlos Alcaraz would love to get another win over SInner ahead of the US Open. He leads Sinner 9-5 in previous meetings and 5-2 on hard courts. This is his second hard court final of the year. The other was when he won the indoor tournament held in Rotterdam.
Two sets have been lost on the way to this final. Saturday’s semi-final saw him defeat Alexander Zverev in straight sets.
Sinner looks to be in slightly better form and can win this.
