Hernan Crespo’s second spell at Brazilian giants Sao Paulo is slowly being felt as the team picks up. Sitting 12th, they will next play host to eighth-placed Fluminense in the Brazilian Serie A. Read on for our prediction of the match.

For the better part of the season, Sao Paulo have struggled and it was the reason the club handed Crespo the reins for a second stint. The team is coming from a second straight win, beating Juventude 1-0, and with that, rose into the Copa Sudamericana positions.

The home team has collected seven points from the last three matches, opening up a five-point gap from the relegation region.

Fluminense are going through tough times, and it seems taking part in the Club World Cup only kicked off their woes. The visitors are yet to win a game since their return from the USA, and they go into this one having lost each of the last four matches, three being after the World Cup.

Quite notably, the visitors had lost only two of the 10 matches right before heading to the global competition. They’ve now dropped from the Copa Libertadores positions, and another defeat could see them finish the week outside the Copa Sudamericana places.
