After a poor week in Europe, 14th-place Real Sociedad and fourth-placed Atletico Madrid will look to bounce back with a win in La Liga. This match of the 2024-25 league campaign will be played at the Reale Arena on Sunday, and our prediction is a game with goals from both sides.

Real Sociedad lost 2-1 at home to Anderlecht in the Europa League their last time out, ending a previous three-match unbeaten run. It was a particularly disappointing defeat as La Real had taken the lead five minutes into the match, only to enter halftime trailing.

They won their last La Liga match 3-0 against Valencia, but will be wary of their poor form otherwise. They've drawn twice, lost three games, and won just once across their last six league matches. Atletico are coming off a midweek disappointment of their own after losing 4-0 to Benfica in the Champions League. The usually strong defensive record of the visitors hasn't taken a hit in La Liga, and a return to domestic action should give hope. Atletico have kept clean sheets in five of their eight league matches and boast the division's best defensive record with only four goals conceded.

The visitors are one of only two unbeaten teams remaining in the Spanish top flight.
