Racing Santander will be out to make the most of their hosts, Rayo Vallecano’s on and off field struggles. The two sides clash on Saturday with Rayo still searching for a first win of the season. Santander registered their first last week and, in our prediction, we are backing them to win this too.
A 5-2 defeat on the road against Barcelona was another depiction of Rayo’s early season troubles. The hosts once again can’t stage this match at their base and have to deal with fan protests as well.
Unsurprisingly, they haven’t managed a win after three rounds. Two defeats and a draw leave Rayo with as many points as they managed at this stage when they were relegated – in 2015/16.
Racing Santander on the other hand, are on the rise, after posting their first win since returning to La Liga. They beat Elche 3-2 and have only lost once in their opening three matches.
Los Verdiblancos seem to have settled in well, and will be confident of handling a Rayo side handling more than just footballing issues.
The one concern they have to deal with, though, is the fact that Rayo Vallecano are unbeaten in 10 matches when playing as the designated home team.
