The preliminary round at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball World Championship continues on Monday afternoon with Poland taking on Qatar. The White and Reds are top of the Group B standings, while Team Qatar are in third place. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Poland are this year’s favourite to win the World Championship and kicked off their campaign with a fairly comfortable victory over Romania on Saturday.
After a marathon first set, the Red and Whites shifted through the gears as the match went on against Qatar and secured a 3-0 victory. Wilfredo Leon and Bartosz Kurek top-scored with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
The Poles have now won seven of their last nine matches across all competitions and have still only lost once in their last three World Championship campaigns.
Meanwhile, Qatar put up a massive effort against the Netherlands in their opening match, but they struggled in the battle at the net and were eventually beaten 3-1.
Three Qatari players ended the match in double digits, led by outside attacker Yousesef Oughlaf with 17 points, 16 of which came off attacks and just one off the block.
That was Qatar’s third defeat in their last 10 matches across all competitions. This will be the first time these sides meet in a competitive matchup.
