Thursday’s 2026 EuroVolley action kicks off with Poland taking on Portugal in Pool B. Poland have won their last three matches against this opponent, and our prediction is that they will extend that record with another comfortable victory in this one.
Poland are set to begin their EuroVolley title this week, having beaten Italy in the 2023 final 3-0. They are the favourites again this year and arguably the hottest team in the world right now.
The White and Reds have finished in the medals in this competition in each of the last three editions and successfully defended their Nations League title in August, beating the USA 3-2 in the final.
Poland are riding a magnificent 17-match win streak across all competitions dating back to mid-June, and have only dropped one set in their last three games against their upcoming opponents.
Meanwhile, Portugal are making their fourth consecutive appearance in the European Championship. Their best showing was in 2021, when they reached the Round of 16.
