The final round at the 2026 European Championships kicks off with Poland taking on Latvia in Sofia on Saturday afternoon. The White and Reds are the reigning European champions, and our prediction is that they will progress to the quarter-finals comfortably. 

Poland have shortened in price as the favourites for the title after an excellent group stage, which included four consecutive wins without dropping a set. They lost their final match to Bulgaria but had already secured top spot by then. 

The White and Reds have rotated their attackers in this competition. Bartłomiej Bołądź has been the team’s standout performer, while Kamil Semeniuk starred with 20 points in their last match against Bulgaria. 

Prior to their loss in the last match, Poland were riding a stunning 21-match win streak dating back to June 12. They have won their last two matches against this opponent without dropping a set. 

Meanwhile, Latvia kicked off their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Romania before losing three in a row. They secured their place in the Final round with a crucial 3-1 victory over Türkiye on Wednesday.

Latvia have won just four of their last 12 matches in all competitions and have never beaten this opponent in a competitive encounter.
