Poland and Israel will go head-to-head at the 2026 European Championships in Sofia on Saturday afternoon. The White and Reds have not lost a match since June 14, and our prediction is that they will add another victory to their streak here. 

Poland kicked off their European Championship title defence in style, romping to a commanding straight-sets victory over Portugal on Thursday evening (25-12, 25-18, 25-20). 

Nikola Grbic’s side dominated in almost every statistical category, finishing with 55% attack efficiency and 54% positive reception. Bartlomiej Boladz led the team with nine points. 

Poland are now on a remarkable 18-match win streak since Week 2 of the 2026 VNL. They have never lost a competitive matchup against their upcoming opponents. 

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s EuroVolley campaign began with disappointment, as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Ukraine on Thursday (25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 25-19). 

However, the final result did not tell the full story of the encounter, as Israel took an early lead in the match at 9-4 before Ukraine fought back. Israel also ended the match with the superior attacking percentage (50% to their opponents’ 47%). 

Israel have now lost their last three matches in succession following a run of eight wins in a row. This will be the first time that they face Poland in a competitive match since August 2015.
