Poland and Germany will meet in the quarter-finals of the 2026 European Championships in Sofia on Tuesday evening. The White and Reds have already beaten this opponent twice this year, and we feel they will secure another victory here, as discussed in our match prediction below. 

Poland are the defending EuroVolley champions and reinforced their title credentials by winning Pool B with four wins and one loss. Notably, that defeat came after they had secured top spot in the group.

The White and Reds then stormed to a 3-0 victory over Latvia in the Playoffs, with Tomasz Fornal producing a standout performance, leading the team with 19 points, including six blocks. 

Poland have now won 22 of their last 23 matches across all competitions, a period during which they beat Germany twice (a friendly and in the Nations League).

Meanwhile, Germany also had a very impressive group stage at EuroVolley, winning four and losing one of their five games to finish second in Pool D behind France with 11 points. 

They then pulled off an against-the-odds victory over Bulgaria in the Playoffs. Erik Rohrs once again led the team with 20 points, while Anton Brehme added 14 points, including three aces. 

Germany have won just seven of their last 15 matches in all competitions and just one of their last four against their upcoming opponents.
