Panathinaikos is set to host Bayern Munich at OACA Olympic Indoor Hall on matchday one of the 2025-26 EuroLeague season. Panathinaikos has won five consecutive matches against Munich in this tournament. Here's our match prediction. 

The continental basketball giant Panathinaikos is out to establish itself as a title contender in this season's EuroLeague tournament. That's what they came to be in the previous edition, reaching the Final Four for the 13th time.

However, the Athens-based club couldn't progress past that stage as an 82-76 defeat against Fenerbahce on May 23, 2025, closed the chapter on their journey. Considering they were defending champions, their title was relinquished as well. 

In preparation for the current EuroLeague campaign, only one preseason fixture was held. This was against Australia's Adelaide, and the result was a 106-89 victory. That result couldn't have come at a better time, as it halted a three-match losing streak against Olympiacos in the Greek Basket League.

Bayern Munich achieved a ninth-place finish in the previous edition of the EuroLeague. Thanks to that achievement, a play-in berth was clinched. 

Gordon Herbert's charges, however, failed to reach the play-off spots after suffering a 93-71 defeat against Real Madrid. 

In preparation for the current EuroLeague campaign, the Munich-based side had to navigate two preseason fixtures (W1, L1) and a recent 93-77 home victory against Science City Jena in the Basketball Bundesliga opener.
