The first round of the Dubai Tennis Championships sees Ons Jabeur take on fellow unseeded player Peyton Stearns.  Jabeur has been in excellent form in recent weeks, can she get another win? Read our match prediction.

Jabeur has reached the last eight in both of her last two tournaments. As is the case in Dubai, those were outdoor hard court tournaments. The Tunisian is 33rd in the live rankings and 12th in the WTA Live Race.

The last eight was reached in both Abu Dhabi and Doha. If she does win this match her next opponent will be seventh seed Qinwen Zheng, who Jabeur beat in Doha. This is her first time playing in this tournament since a last eight appearance in 2022.

Peyton Stearns is 46th in the live rankings which is three places below her career-high. The American has won five matches this year but lost the same number. Stearns is still waiting to make it past the second round of a tournament in 2025.

Her last tournament was in Doha and the 23-year-old lost in round two to Elena Rybakina. The last time Stearns won two successive matches in the main draw of a WTA event was in Beijing last October.
