The year 2022 has been a tough one for both Chelsea and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, and both sides will be targeting a better start in 2023. They face off in their first league assignment of the new year, with Nottingham hosting this London derby. Nottingham Forest will go into this game placed 19th with 13 points while Chelsea are eighth on 24 points. Chelsea have three losses in their last four league matches and only one win in five. They come into this game winless in their last three away league games and have lost each of the last two. The Blues are grappling with injuries to a number of major players, including N’golo Kante, who has been out for the better part of the season, and defenders Ben Chillwell, Wesley Fofana, and Reece James. Chelsea have had the upper hand in this fixture over the years; they’ve beaten Nottingham Forest in each of their last six meetings.
