Two teams with contrasting records at the 2026 European Championship, Netherlands and Finland, will meet in Tampere on Tuesday afternoon. Finland are unbeaten in this competition, and our prediction is that they will add another victory to their tally here.
The Netherlands have endured a disappointing EuroVolley campaign to this point, losing all three matches against Estonia (3-1), Denmark (3-0), and most recently Serbia (3-2).
Against Serbia, the Dutch recorded 48% attack efficiency, along with 10 blocks and seven aces. Silvester Meijs top-scored for the team with 25 points, followed by Tom Koops with 22 points.
The Netherlands have lost five of their last six matches in all competitions. They also lost twice to their upcoming opponents in the European League in July.
Meanwhile, Finland have been absolutely flying in the first week of this year’s EuroVolley. They have won all three of their matches, beating Denmark and Serbia 3-0, either side of a 3-2 victory over Belgium.
Finland recorded an impressive 56% attack efficiency to Serbia’s 44% in the last match. Joonas Jokela was the standout performer in that victory with 19 points, followed by Nooa Marttila with 12 points.
Finland have won eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions. Both victories against this opponent in July came by 3-1 scorelines.
