The Netherlands and Belgium will meet in Pool C at the 2026 European Championships on Friday afternoon. These sides played to five sets when they met in a warm-up match last month, which sees us leaning toward the points market for our prediction in this match. 

The Netherlands will be hoping to continue their upward trajectory at EuroVolley this year. They reached the quarter-finals in 2021 and the last eight in 2023 before losing to Italy 3-2. 

The Dutch went undefeated in the European League’s League Round, winning all six of their games without dropping a set. They finished as runners-up in that competition, losing to Finland in the final. 

The Netherlands have won eight of their last 10 matches across all competitions and came out on top in that five-set thriller against this opponent last month. 

Meanwhile, Belgium will be hoping for better this year after finishing in 14th place in the last edition of EuroVolley. Their best performance came in 2017 when they finished in fourth place. 

The Belgians made their first appearance in the Nations League this year, replacing their upcoming opponents. While they failed to reach the final round, they did gain valuable experience. 

Belgium have won just four of their last 10 matches. While they lost to this opponent last month, they did win the two previous encounters, losing only a single set in those matches.
