Nashville and New York City will both be out to return to winning ways when they face off in the MLS on Saturday. Hosts Nashville go into matchday 17 in third place, and New York City are five places below. Here’s our prediction for the match.

Nashville are coming from a 2-2 draw at Columbus Crew and will be looking to bounce back. That result left them five points off leaders Philadelphia Union. They’ll only be disappointed that they led twice but failed to bag three points.

This was their ninth unbeaten match, and they can look back to home form for a lift. Nashville won seven of nine home matches in all competitions.

New York City were getting on to a stable run, going three matches unbeaten, until they met Houston Dynamo last time out. They were thrashed 3-0 at home and, for the third time in five league matches, failed to score.

While their season so far has been inconsistent, New York City have only won one game less than their hosts. This should build some hope for an eighth win in the league.
