Both Monaco and Reims have been on a downward spiral, something they’ll want to address in their Friday Ligue 1 meeting. Monaco have slipped to fifth and Reims start the weekend in 15th place in te standings. Below is our prediction of the match.

Hosts Monaco’s chase for Champions League football seems to be falling apart after their seventh league loss. They were beaten 2-1 at Lille in their last outing, and are now three points below the top three.

It has been a lean period for Les Monegasques, who have managed just one win in five matches. This isn’t particularly a fixture that has favored Monaco, winning just once in five meetings.

Three matches without losing to Monaco should give Reims some hope going into this game. The visitors need a break after going winless in 90 minutes in their last 11 matches.

In that period they posted three wins on post-match penalties, in the French Cup. Among the teams they eliminated was Monaco.
