Monaco will be looking to salvage their season when they host Nantes in their next Ligue 1 assignment. Les Monegasques got into this Saturday match placed fourth while their visitors are fourth from bottom. Predictions for this match point to more heartbreak for Monaco.

After 21 matches, Monaco’s promising start to the season is a fading memory. They’ve been dumped out of the French Cup and the league title race has slipped.

Their most recent outing ended in a 1-0 defeat at home to Benfica in the Champions League. Monaco could still save their season but at the moment things look bleak, with three defeats in four matches.

Nantes’ battle is completely different, though they are also fighting to save their season. A 2-0 defeat at home to Brest last time out left them three points above the relegation zone.

They are hanging in there, and a good goal difference also gives them some buoyancy. From their opening 21 matches they have as many points.
