Stadium MK plays host to an intriguing Round of 16 Carabao Cup matchup, with MK Dons clashing with Leicester City. The hosts  are in League One (two divisions below their Premier League opponents) and atthe weekend won 2-0 at Portsmouth. That win ended a run of four without a victory, including three defeats. It was also MK Dons’ first clean sheet in eight, with their defence looking especially leaky in recent encounters. Facing a Premier League side of Leicester’s pedigree is always a daunting task, with the home side’s recent inconsistencies on home turf not making it much easier. MK Dons have won just three of their last nine in front of their own fans, conceding in each of their last four. They have also never won when hosting the Foxes, managing however, to claim a scoreless draw against them at a friendly in 2017. 

Brendan Rodgers’ side is one of  those that could have done without the World Cup break. They had found their form with six wins in their last eight matches. Their defensive turnaround is another aspect of their play worthy of a mention. The Foxes had conceded in eight of their first ten competitive games this season, yet went on to register clean sheets in seven of their following eight, conceding a mere goal during that run. They have also won each of their last three away encounters, managing shutouts in all of those. Leicester should also gain confidence from their positive history against MK Dons, against whom they are unbeaten in four meetings, not conceding in three of those.
