Adrian Mannarino is the eighth seed in the Moselle Open. He takes on Mikael Ymer in round one with the winner up against either Oscar Otte or qualifier Gregoire Barrere. This is the same quarter of the draw as top seeded Daniil Medvedev, so Mannarino possibly has a very tough task lying ahead of him. The French player won the Winston-Salem Open last month beating four players that were higher in the rankings than him. Thst saw him rise 20 places in the world rankings but still way short of the 22nd place he achieved three years ago. Soon after that win he lost to the then world number 181 Gijs Brouwer in the first round of the US Open. He'll be looking to get back into winning ways in this tournament.

Mikael Ymer began this week ranked 100th but was as high as 76th last month. The Swede also lost to a lower ranked player in the first round of the US Open, his second defeat in a row after being beaten in the last 32 in Winston-Salem. That was disappointing after reaching the last four in Washington but that was the first time he'd made it past the last 32 of an ATP Tour tournament since February. He's had one previous meeting with Mannarino on the ATP Tour. That was last year in Australia with the Frenchman winning in straight sets. Ymer had beaten him on the Challenger Tour in 2019 but that was on clay. Go for Mannarino to get the win here. Have a side bet on him doing so in straight sets.
