The pressure is on Manchester City and they just have to win this match. The defending champions are eight points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and after this match, they'll have played a game more. City are second after the weekend games but will drop to third on Wednesday if Manchester United beat Crystal Palace. Tottenham are fifth in the table but will start this game five points adrift of fourth spot. A lot at stake therefore and another failure by City to take maximum points from a game would make Arsenal even more likely to win the Premier League this season.

Manchester City come into this game having lost both of their last two matches. A Carabao Cup defeat at Southampton was followed by a controversial loss at Manchester United in the Premier League. Not since October 2018 have City lost three consecutive matches. Both of the recent losses have been on the road and City have gone two home Premier League games without a win. A loss to Brentford was followed by a home draw against struggling Everton. It's their worst home run in the Premier League since October/November 2016 when going four home games without a win. City had won all seven of their home league games before the Brentford and Everton fixtures.
