Manchester City and Liverpool will face off at the Etihad Stadium in what will be a befitting welcome back after the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The two giants square it out in the round of 16 of the League Cup, clashing for the second time this season, Liverpool having beaten Manchester City 1-0 in their earlier meeting in the league. Manchester City are coming from a 2-0 win over Girona in a friendly match and returning to competitive action, they’ll want to rise from their 2-1 loss to Brentford before the World Cup break.
