Manchester City - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis
Pep’s City started the season perfectly, recording a 6-0 total score in their first two games played. However, they have somehow ended up conceding six goals in their last two games, in consecutive 3-3 draws against Newcastle (league) and Barcelona (friendly). It is all different at the Etihad though, where they have seven wins on the spin, scoring at least three goals in six of those. Crystal Palace might have kicked off the season with a loss to Arsenal, yet they are gradually improving game by game. Vieira’s team drew at Anfield against Liverpool, to cap that impressive result off with consecutive wins against Aston Villa for the league and Oxford United for the League Cup. The Eagles have been efficient away from home of late, winning three of their last four outings, while they are one of the few teams in this division to claim recent success at the Etihad, having won two and drawn one of their last four games there.

Manchester City & Crystal Palace Squad Analysis
Haaland is definitely key to any City game, and that is why he was bought. The Norwegian ace has already scored three goals in his first three league games and he is looks set to add to that. However, Gundogan is also a player to watch, having scored four times in his last four league appearances, with both of his goals this season breaking the deadlock. With regards to the defence, there is a clear issue after Laporte’s injury, with Pep still unable to find his best defensive pairing between Ake, Dias and Stones. Crystal Palace know they will be successful if their talisman Wilfried Zaha is fit and firing. The Ivorian scored twice in the last league game, while he also scored in their away victory at the Etihad last season. The return of Eze has also been crucial for Crystal Palace, while Joachim Andersen proved against Liverpool that he can be a menace to attackers at the back. Palace will be without Butland, Ferguson, McArthur and Tomkins for this game.
Manchester City - Crystal Palace Key Points
City have conceded in four of their last six home games
Three of Palace’s last five games have seen both teams score
City have conceded six goals in their last two games
Palace have scored six goals in their last four encounters at the Etihad
Palace were unbeaten in their two league games against City last season
While City are grand favourites for the win, don’t underestimate Vieira’s side just yet. They ended last season unbeaten against the Cityzens and almost always give them trouble at the Etihad, so backing both teams to score is the smartest play here.
Manchester City vs Crystal Palace - Other Interesting Predictions
Wilfried Zaha to score anytime
The Ivorian has been in red hot form of late and he has a good tradition of scoring at the Etihad recently. Backing him to score anytime is a solid alternative value pick.
