Mamelodi Sundowns kick off their CAF Champions League campaign on Saturday, when they take on Saint-Eloi Lupopo at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria. Masandawana and Les Cheminots are joined by Al-Hilal and MC Alger in Group C of this competition. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Mamelodi Sundowns will be hoping to go one better this term after losing last season’s final to Pyramids. They have reached the final eight in this competition in each of the last seven seasons.

The Brazilians defeated TS Galaxy 1-0 ahead of the international break and are now unbeaten in their last four games, while also leading the PSL standings, three points ahead of Orlando Pirates. 

The hosts have won seven of their 10 home games in all competitions this season and have kept three clean sheets in their last four (regulation time) at this venue. 

Meanwhile, it is sure to be a special day for Saint-Eloi Lupopo, who will be stepping out for their first-ever match in the CAF Champions League proper. 

The Railmen defeated another South African team, Orlando Pirates, during qualifying to book their spot in the competition. They have also started their domestic league well, winning three and drawing two of their first five games. 

However, the visitors have only won one of their last six away games in all competitions, including a loss and a draw in their two games on the road during qualifying for the CAFCL.
