Lyon bounced back from defeat in the league last weekend by earning a crucial victory in Europe in midweek. Paulo Fonseca’s men maintained a 100% start in the Europa League by seeing off visiting Crystal Palace in a five-goal thriller.
The win came after they had suffered their first league loss of the season by falling to Lens after the international break. That loss saw Les Gones drop three points off top spot.
Nice have struggled against Lyon in recent meetings. They have managed just one victory in the last five encounters with the other four fixtures ending in defeat.
A recent upturn in fortunes though, will have the visitors confident of avoiding another setback in this fixture. Olivier Pantaloni’s men have won their last two fixtures.
