Machday 39 in the Championship pits relegation-battling Luton Town against title-contending Leeds United. Plenty is on the line for both teams with only seven matches remaining in the 2024/25 season. Read on for our match prediction between the Hatters and the Whites! 

Hosts Luton are staging a late-season comeback as they try to dig themselves out of the relegation places. They trail safety by three points but an encouraging run of form will be having fans thinking they can pull off an escape act.

The Hatters’ extended their unbeaten run to three games following a 1-0 away victory over Hull. They’re now 3-1-1 in their last five with three clean sheets during that stretch.

A run of only one win in five Championship fixtures has seen Leeds relinquish the top spot in the standings and has thrown their quest for automatic promotion into turmoil.

It had looked like Wilfried Gnonto had grabbed a late winner for the Peacocks in their most recent home match against Swansea. However, an equalizer deep into stoppage time meant that Leeds would have to settle for a second straight 2-2 draw.

Leeds have now taken just six points from their last five league fixtures and will have to pick up the pace if they are to avoid the playoffs and secure a top two spot.
