Probably the last thing that Tottenham need at present is an away game at Anfield. Spurs begin the weekend 16th in the Premier League and desperately need points away at sixth-placed Liverpool. Read our match prediction below.
Tuesday was a disastrous night for the Lilywhites as they lost 5-2 at Atletico Madrid. It was the latest poor performance and another this weekend could well see the departure of interim boss Igor Tudor. They could even start the game in the bottom three if West Ham and Forest can win this weekend.
Liverpool also needs to bounce back from a loss in Europe going down 1-0 at Galatasaray. The Reds are battling to qualify for the Champions League and dare not drop more points at home this weekend. While their away form is worrying at present, recent results at Anfield have been impressive and this may be another long afternoon for their struggling opponents.

Liverpool - Tottenham: Form Analysis
Liverpool begin the weekend only outside the top five on goal difference. The Reds have won eight home league games this season. Four of the last five at Anfield have been won, the other a home loss to Manchester City. A worrying statistic for Spurs is that Liverpool have scored 19 goals in their last five league and cup fixtures.
Five of their last seven home games in all competitions have seen both teams get on the scoresheet. That stat has also come up in the last two games played between Liverpool and Tottenham.
Will the Tottenham crisis continue?
The Lilywhites are in desperate trouble at present with each of their last six league and cup games being lost. There wasn’t a great deal of enthusiasm over the appointment of Igor Tudor as interim boss. He’s even less popular after a run of four defeats and 14 goals conceded.
Tottenham have failed to win a game this year and only earned two points from their last five away league fixtures. They lost the reverse fixture against Liverpool 2-1. Confidence will be a key factor here. Have Tottenham got any is the best question.

Liverpool & Tottenham Squad Analysis
It's pretty safe to report that Antonin Kinsky won't be starting this game in goal for Spurs. The young goalkeeper had a nightmare against Atletico in midweek and was taken off after only 17 minutes with his side 4-0 down.
Tottenham have another important few days coming up with this game being followed by the return leg in the Champions League in midweek. A bit like the Welsh rugby team, a performance that doesn't see them suffer a heavy loss would be real progress.
Long list of absentees for Spurs.
The Lilywhites as ever have a long list of absentees. There are 13 first-team players who are not going to be playing at Anfield. The latest to join the lengthy list are Joao Palhinha and Cristian Romero with Yves Bissouma injured and Conor Gallagher is ill.
A massive blow for Spurs will be the absence of Micky Van de Ven as he's suspended for this match.
Liverpool have an excellent home record against Spurs with 17 goals scored against them in their last four matches at Anfield in all competitions. The Reds need three points to boost their chances of being in next season's Champions League.
Hugo Ekitike has had a successful first season for the Reds. That's particularly so at Anfield where seven of his last eight goals have been scored. Alisson is expected to be between the sticks after missing the Galatasaray match.
