On Friday evening, James Wade and Mike De Decker will face off at the 2025 European Darts Championship in Dortmund. The winner of this match between the Machine and the Real Deal will meet either Luke Littler or Raymond van Barneveld in the second round. Let’s get into the match prediction.
James Wade won the European Darts Championship back in 2018, but suffered a second-round elimination last year, losing 10-9 to Jermaine Wattimena.
The Gladiator won the PC19 this year, reached finals at the World Matchplay and UK Open, and has notched up four semi-final appearances on the European Tour in the last 12 months.
However, Wade conceded his third defeat in a row in the first round of the German Darts Championship last week and has now lost six of his last 10 in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Mike De Decker exited this competition in the second round last year, but he returns to the competition seeded seven places higher (20) than he was in the previous edition.
The Real Deal has not won a major title since the 2024 World Grand Prix, but he was a runner-up at the Australian Darts Masters and a finalist in the Belgian Darts Open this year.
Like Wade, De Decker failed to get beyond the first round in Hildesheim last week but still has a positive record of six wins and four defeats in his last 10 matches.
