The race for places in Europe is on and every point counts now. Hellas Verona are hoping to enhance their Europa League hopes when they host title chasing AC Milan. The two competitors are separated by their ambitions as well as 15 points in the Serie A standings. Hosts Verona have 38 points, in eighth place and Milan have 53 points, in second place. In their Europa League ambitions, Verona are six points off the slots and to get there will call for more of their recent results. The hosts have not lost any of their last four matches, winning two and scoring two or more in three of the four. At home, they are also unbeaten in four matches, with three wins therein but have no clean sheet in nine league matches. Milan have been on some slump recently, which has seen them drop to second place, now six points behind leaders Internazionale. They have three wins in the last 10 matches across all competitions, while in Serie A they have one win in four. The team is coming from a 1-1 draw with Udinese, which was another tough outing that Milan needed a last minute Yannick Kessie penalty goal to grab a point. Kessie has now scored three in the last three matches, all being penalties, with the team winning four penalties in the last five matches. Milan haven’t been up to scratch defensively, and the more reason they’ve had a slump. In four of their last five matches, both sides have scored. They will however carry the tag for the best performing away side in Serie A, having lost just once in the 12 home matches in the league. A total of 10 wins in 12 away matches means Milan have an impressive 83% win rate away from home.
