EuroLeague debutants Hapoel Tel Aviv will begin their 2025/26 campaign by welcoming Barcelona on matchday one. This will be the first-ever meeting between these two teams. Read on to find our prediction for this match.

Hapoel Tel Aviv are making their European top-flight debut. The Israeli team, who will play their home games in Bulgaria due to the unrest in Israel, finished second in the EuroCup.

They won 12 of 18 fixtures in the second tier and finished with an 8-1 home record to secure promotion. Dimitrios Itoudis’s men will hope to have maintained that momentum to have a strong start to the season. Hapoel have won their last four matches competing in the Israeli League Cup.

Barcelona are coming into this season opener after a slow end to their preseason preparations. After winning their opening three build-up games, Joan Penarroya’s men slumped to back-to-back losses to end their preps.

This will, however, be of minimal concern to the Spanish heavyweights who have won 20-plus games in each of the last seven EuroLeague campaigns.

Last year, Barca, who lost in the playoff quarter-finals, finished with a 20-14 regular season record. They won four of their final five matches before the postseason and ended with three straight away victories.
