Morton began their season in this competition, winning three of their four Group Stage games to qualify for the next phase. That run included two 3-0 home wins over Stenhousemuir and Clyde. In the league, though, they are yet to win a game, drawing their Championship opener 0-0 at home to Dunfermline and then earning a 1-1 draw away to Partick Thistle last weekend. They lie fifth in the Championship table after two games.
After winning this competition last season, beating Celtic 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Hampden Park, Aberdeen have not been able to keep that form going into the new season. The Dons kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 away defeat to Hearts and then last weekend, were beaten 2-0 at home by Celtic who gained revenge for that Cup Final defeat back in May. The Dons are at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership without a point after two games.
