Greece will take on Sweden in Pool A at the 2026 European Championship on Tuesday afternoon. Greece have lost only one of their six encounters against this opponent, and our prediction is that they will come out on top in this match. 

After an excellent run at the Mediterranean Games in which they reached the final before losing to France, Greece have struggled to find their best form in this year’s European Championships. 

They suffered two disappointing losses to the Czech Republic (3-1) and Italy (3-0) in their first two games before notching up their first win against Slovenia 3-1 on Monday. 

Greece are 5-5 in their last 10 matches across all competitions and were beaten 3-2 by this opponent in their last encounter during the European League in June. 

Meanwhile, three games into the 2026 EuroVolley and Sweden are still winless, though they did manage to pick up a point in their 3-2 defeat to the Czech Republic on Saturday evening. 

The Swedes come into this match off the back of a crushing 3-0 defeat against Slovenia. Jacob Link was the only player to reach double digits, scoring 12 of the team’s 49 points in that match. 

Sweden have lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions. While they did win the last match against this opponent, that was their only victory against them in a competitive encounter.
