Greece and Italy will meet in a Pool A battle at the 2026 European Championships on Saturday afternoon. Gli Azzurri are the second-ranked team in the world, and our prediction is that they will secure a comfortable victory in this match.
Greece were unable to follow up on an impressive qualifying campaign and Mediterranean Games in their opening match of the 2026 EuroVolley, losing to the Czech Republic 3-1 on Friday.
Alexandros Raptis led the team with 16 points and a 58% attack efficiency in that match. While the Greeks were unable to get the victory, they did record a solid 54% attack efficiency as a team.
Greece have won six of their last 10 matches in all competitions, including a stunning 3-2 victory over their upcoming opponents last month at the Mediterranean Games.
Meanwhile, Italy are the second favourites to win the EuroVolley title this year, and they made an early statement in their competition, storming to a straight-sets victory over Sweden on Thursday.
