The bottom half of the Cinch Championships draw has produced several surprises already this week. Qualifier Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard takes on British wild card Billy Harris for a place in the quarter-finals. The winner will face either Brandon Nakashima or Lorenzo Musetti who are both unseeded. Perricard is ranked 67th in the latest rankings which was only one position below his career-high. That's been beaten with ease after this run to the second round of this grass court tournament. He's up to 59th and could rise another five places if winning this match. He had to qualify to get into the main draw and had to go to a final set to win both his matches. That took him into round one where he beat the sixth seed Ben Shelton in straight sets. He's played six tie-breaks in his last three matches, so a side bet on one being played here is worth making.

Billy Harris was 162nd in Monday's new ranking list. That was a career-high for the British player but after beating Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the first round, he's up to 144th. The 29-year-old has made a good start to this year's grass court season. He reached the semi-finals in both of the Challenger Tour events held in Surbiton and Nottingham. His two losses in those tournaments were both to players ranked outside the top 100. In Nottingham, he was beaten by Charles Broom who was ranked 283rd at the time. This week has so far seen him beat Tomas Martin Etcheverry in three sets, losing the middle one. His run looks like ending here and we tip Perricard to get the win.
